Privacy Policy

Information we collect
None. Abbild has no accounts and does not ask for your name, email address or any other personal information. The app makes no network connections. It contains no analytics, tracking, advertising or crash-reporting software, and no third-party code that collects data. We never receive your files, file names, folder names or any information about how you use the app.
Information stored on your Mac
To do its job, Abbild keeps a small amount of information only on your Mac, inside the app's private storage (its sandbox container). It is never sent to us or anyone else:
Your backup settings: each backup's name, source folder, destinations, schedule, mode and options.
Folder access permissions: macOS "security-scoped bookmarks" that let Abbild reach the folders you picked, and only those folders.
Backup history: the date, duration and result of recent backups, so the app can show their status.
App preferences: settings such as notifications, the menu bar icon, the Dock icon and paused schedules.
Your files
Abbild reads only the folders you choose as sources and writes only to the destinations you choose. Copies are ordinary files and folders that belong to you. Abbild does not upload, scan, analyze or share their contents. If a destination is a network or cloud-synced folder that you selected, any transfer to that service is handled by macOS and that provider under their own terms, not by Abbild.
Permissions
Files and folders: Abbild can access only the folders you choose in the macOS file picker. You can change or remove them in the app at any time.
Notifications (optional): used only to tell you when a backup finishes or needs attention. Notifications are created on your Mac. You can turn them off in Abbild's Settings or in System Settings › Notifications.
Open at login (optional): lets scheduled backups run after you restart. You can turn it off in Abbild's Settings or in System Settings › General › Login Items.
Sharing and selling
We do not share, sell, rent or trade any information, because we do not collect any. There are no third-party services in the app.
Data retention and deletion
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to keep or delete. Information stored on your Mac stays there until you remove it:
Remove a backup in the app to delete its settings and history. Your existing copies are not touched.
Delete old copies from the destination manager, or in Finder.
Delete the app to remove all of its settings and stored permissions from your Mac.
Children's privacy
Abbild does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR or CCPA may give you rights to access, correct or delete personal data held about you. Abbild holds no personal data, but you are welcome to contact us with any privacy question or request.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of Abbild changes how information is handled, we will update this policy, change the effective date above, and update the app's privacy details on the App Store before that version is released.
